Monjunc, Aquarium, and Camp Nou (Fútbol Stadium)

Monjunc is a big fountain that displays water shows every hour on the weekends. Very large crowds gather to see the display of lights and water.

This picture doesn´t do the fountain justice at all. You really have to see it in person.

L´Aquarium is a basic aquarium that focus a lot on fish in the Mediterranean.

Just to give you an idea of why people wait until 10:00 to eat dinner, I took this picture at 9:15 at night.

Doesn´t start to get dark arround here until about 9:45.

Museum of Contemporary Art and FÚTBOL!!!!

Here are some pictures of the Museum of Contemporary Art. I expected it to be more like the one in La Jolla, but this one has more paintings and less sculptures.

Here is the outside

FÚTBOL

This picture, taken in a bar, shows just how serrious people are when they watch the game

The best part was the celebration afterwords. It was like something you usually see on TV, except I was right in the middle of it. It was one of the best times I´d ever had in my life.

Those crazy Italians like to pour beer and water on people when they get excited

While all of this was happening, people were singing songs in Italian, firecrackers were going off, and it felt like everyone was friends with everyone. The national guard was there standing by, but everything was peaceful.

On a less exciting note, it cost me 9€ to wash my clothes and then another 2€ for 16 minutes in the dryer. I also got lost for the first time yesterday. I got on the wrong metro and ended up somewhere wierd. Oh well, I figured it out eventually. I´m having a great time and meeting a lot of fun and interesting people. Expect to see pictures of the F.C Barcelona fútbol team museam soon. I am also going to try to go see a bullfight as I believe they happpen weekly.

The zoo etc...

Yesterday I went to the zoo and the Picasso museam. The Picasso museam was dissapointing and you couldn´t take pictures. Here are some of the pictures that I have taken thus far.

At first I was a bit skeptical of the Zoo seeing as how I am from San Diego. The fact that it was 14.50 Euros to get into the Zoo didn´t make me feel any better. It was worth it though. The Zoo was a pretty big, smaller than San Diego of course, and had many animals. Being in Europe, the Zoo lacked rules for lack of a better word. Many animals were free to wander arround the Zoo by themselves and it was easy to get REALLY CLOSE to almost all of the animals, even the ones in enclosures.

SPANISH LESSON FOR THE DAY!!!!

Titty Gallery means ´nursary´ appearently.

Sorry if I do not post a lot of pictures. It is an unbelievably difficult process to get them onto the internet. I won´t even try to explain it here. All you need to know is that it takes a very long time, involves going to several stores, and is expensive. So enjoy these! Look forward to hearing more sometime this week!

July 5th and prior

I arrived in Spain on time and although I was warned that the baggage claim would be hard to find, it wasn´t. After going through customs (which were a joke) I went to my famliy´s house. It´s a very nice 3 bed 2 bath appartment and I am living with an older coupple, one of their children and his wife, and their two newborn twins. I was either too afarid or too tired to do anything else on my first day so I ate dinner arround 9 and went to bed.

The next day I went to orientation and took a very difficult placment exam. After learning that I had been placed in intermediate level spanish, I went and got some lunch with some girls that I met who are from San Diego as well. Later that night we went out to celebrate the 4th of July. I learned to stay from any bar where they speek english as drinks can be upwards of 9 euro each.

TO BE CONTINUED WITH AN EXPLNATION OF WHY THIS IS SO SHORT TOMORROW!!! Stupid european internet cafe

bear with me

I just found an internet cafe. I apologize for the lack of updates. I will post a lot of pictures later tonight, so look forward to that. They will include pictures of the piccaso museum.

As high maintenance as I am, I managed to fit everything I own into a backpack and one large suitcase.
